Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to Ecotel. Below you’ll find exactly how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we need it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to all Ecotel products and services, including phone, internet, SIM and IoT solutions, as well as visits to our website. Last updated: July 2025.

What Personal Information We Collect and Why

We collect contact details, identification, payment info, service usage data and communication records strictly for service delivery, billing, support, security and legal compliance. Sensitive info is only collected with consent or where required by law.

How We Use Your Personal Information

To provide and bill services, deliver customer support, send essential notifications, improve our network, meet legal obligations and—if you opt-in—send marketing you can always unsubscribe from.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We never sell your data. We may share limited details with service partners (e.g. NBN Co, carriers), outsourced providers under contract, law-enforcement when legally compelled, credit-reporting bodies (for credit checks/defaults) or your authorised representatives.

Security of Personal Information

Physical, technical and organisational safeguards protect your data: SSL/TLS encryption, MFA for staff, role-based access, secure data-centre hosting, regular audits and a Notifiable Data Breach response plan.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You may request a copy of your personal info or ask us to correct inaccuracies at any time. We’ll respond within a reasonable period and at no charge for standard requests.

Privacy Preferences and Opt-Out

Opt out of marketing any time via the unsubscribe link, by replying STOP to SMS, or by contacting support. You may interact with us anonymously for general enquiries where practical.

Overseas Disclosure

Most data is stored in Australia. Where cloud vendors or contractors operate overseas (e.g. US, EU), they are bound by privacy obligations equivalent to the APPs. We remain accountable for their handling of your information.

Cookies and Online Data

We use cookies for site functionality and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some site features may not work. We may use remarketing (Google/Facebook) which you can opt out of via those platforms.

Making a Privacy Complaint

Contact our Privacy Officer first—we’ll investigate and aim to resolve within 30 days. If you’re dissatisfied, you may escalate to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
